TechLeadHD, a former Meta engineer, has identified two major threats to Bitcoin: quantum computing and miner rewards. He warned that advancements in quantum computing could jeopardize the security of Bitcoin wallet encryption. Furthermore, he highlighted that the decreasing block rewards for Bitcoin could weaken network security over time if transaction fees do not provide sufficient economic incentives for miners. TechLeadHD also expressed doubts about Bitcoin's potential to function as a sovereign currency, suggesting that governments are unlikely to accept a monetary system beyond their control.
